ICELAND
'The land of fire and ice' tells it how it is. From hot bubbling mud pools, geysers and iceberg lagoons to powerful waterfalls and fast flowing rivers, Iceland really is a fascinating country of contrasts. The scenery is stunning and its citylife is trendy and unusual. It's an expensive place to visit but wow! it's really unmissable. We have been twice, ten years apart (it takes that long to pay for a trip there!!!!) and the countryside hasn't changed. The country itself has moved with the times, with all modern technologies, everyone speaks excellent english, (thank god because Icelandic is totally unmanageable) and the food is outstanding, (even if smoked guillimot, smoked pony and puffin are on the menu!). Just, however, go for the scenery and you will never see so many different natural phenomenon in such a small country - but take out a new morgage first to pay for it!
