USA

Its going to be hard to describe this section as it's so diverse. New York pictures speak for themselves. Bryce canyon had its first snow when we arrived and the temperatures ranged from -6degrees at dawn to 85degrees during the day. It was very weird. At dawn the limestone hoodoos reflect bright sunlight back on others which gives a translucent look to the scene. It is truly magical.
Coyote buttes north and south is an area between Utah and Arizona near Page with restricted permit access. The landscape is vaguely lunar with hoodoos, pinnacles and terraces of multicoloured rock fins which are in fact petrifed sand dunes. The swirls of colour are reminiscent of candy stripes ( it reminds me of a scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory when the caramel and candy starts to flow in the factory - without the Umpa Lumpa's of course!)
