We provide a one day workshop package for a maximum of three clients which will cost £300 for the day regardless of the number of attendees. The workshop can be run on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday by arrangement.

The day will start at around 9.30am with refreshments where the days programme will be finalised. (We will send clients a questionnaire before attendance so the course can be tailored to the needs of the three group members.) We would aim to finish at around 5pm although we will try to make the day as flexible as possible.

We will then take the clients out on a short trip to the local nature reserve to allow instruction in the following capture techniques:-

    Exposure

    Exposure Modes

    Sharpness

    Histograms

    Depth of Field

    Digital settings (eg file formats)

    Use of filters (eg graduates and polarisers)

    basic Composition

On return the results will be downloaded to Windows based PC’s, each participant can have their own workstation.

We will then demonstrate the following processing techniques:-

    Downloading from memory card

    RAW processing in Adobe Camera Raw, Adobe Lightroom and Pixmantec Raw Shooter

      -White balance settings

      -Highlight recovery

      -Shadow recovery

      -Sharpening and saturation


    Photoshop manipulation

      -Curves

      -Colour Balance

      -Shadow/Highlight

      -Selections

      -Adjustment Layers

      -Selective Colour enhancement

      -Perspective correction

      -Dust and blemish removal

      -Sharpening and saturation

    Print Output – using Epson R2400

      -proofing

      -colour settings and profiles

      -printer settings and paper
Profiling of the monitor will be demonstrated and pictures will be produced through to a final print.

All materials will be provided including paper and disks.


At an appropriate point there will be a buffet lunch. Tea and coffee will be available at any time during the day.
